May's been slower than expected, but I'm working away. Been making steady progress on "Instant Gratification", and I even found the time to put out a short story a few weeks ago, "Audiocide". It's done OK--the plan is for it to make the rounds at Story Shack Magazine after "Prerogatives" gets an illustrator.
Regrettably, blogging performance anxiety has taken hold. It's not that there hasn't been the time or the inspiration--there's been both, in spades--it's that I wonder whether there's any point in logging this sort of progress. I find myself flipping through Rebel Books and Electric Fiction, the blogs of Warren Ellis and Chuck Wendig and Eric Beetner on occasion, and find myself wondering whether this should be a place to follow their example. To post things relevant to writers, musicians, artists besides myself.
Sure. That didn't sound like a bad idea. All I need now is a schedule. And some tasty bits to throw to thewolves readers. That'll happen in two weeks. I'm working on a quartet of stories: "Fascism, A Stimulant", "Anarchism, a Hallucinogen", "Socialism, a Depressant", and "Liberalism, a Placebo". You don't need to be a political science geek, nor a drug aficionado to enjoy them. More on that later.
